Bio

Amy Mizrahi is an artist based in Liverpool and Manchester. Her work explores themes of hidden disability, dreams, folklore, memory, and heritage from an autobiographical perspective. Amy employs a juxtaposition of unusual imagery, drawing inspiration from the uncanny and unconventional. Through a vibrant palette and surreal visuals, she creates a dream-like realm that invites viewers to escape within.

Amy co-founded the artist-led SLOE Gallery in Manchester, where she served as co-director and curator for over two years. She has completed several artist residencies, including Generator Projects in Scotland, Eastside International in Los Angeles and Unit 1 Gallery in London. She was selected for the ‘Fair Art Fair Curated II – Womxn’ exhibition, additionally securing a place among the top three finalists for the Manchester Home Open award. Her artwork has been showcased throughout the UK, and she was recently shortlisted from 560 candidates by Tracey Emin for the TEAR residency (The Tracey Emin Artist Residency). Additionally, Amy is nearing the completion of her PhD at the Manchester School of Art, where her practice-based research explores how contemporary artists reinterpret Surrealist techniques within painting and drawing to explore personal narrative.
